As a toddler, it will be big enough for a nap, to take along for a car ride or for cuddling with Grandma while rocking or reading the story of Noah and the Ark. The quilt is 33 inches wide and 35 inches long. On three teal (ocean colored) prints I appliqued and embroidered an ark with several animals waving from the deck. All of the larger squares are 'stipple' quilted. Alternating squares are a rag quilt four-patch with bright 'rainbow striped' print. Polyester quilt batting in the middle and 'paw print' blue flannel on the back, make this a nice warm quilt. It is constructed with 'rag quilt method' with exposed seams for a soft fluffy feel. The quilt was washed and dried once to start the ragging process. The matching 9 inch square pillow has one of the Ark applique designs on one side and a 'four-patch' striped block on the other. The edges of the pillow are 'rag quilt' fringe. It is stuffed with polyester fiberfil. Cute baby shower gift!! |
